Has anyone had problems with charger stopping after running for 15 minutes or the charger will stop at 25% with the red light flashing ?  I walk away to carry on with my yard work to come back and find the charger has stopped. This has happened the last two times I mowed and I have to take the battery out and put it back in and then it starts charging again.

Called customer service this morning regarding this issue as well as issue with short battery run times.  He "troubleshooted," which consisted of putting the battery in the charger , and since the light was green, he said it was working fine.  In my opinion, something is not fine since it wasn't doing this before. Nothing got resolved as far as I'm concerned. The only suggestion he made as to short battery time was to take the mower in to Home Depot for servicing. Unfortunately, my local HD doesn't service them and it would need to be sent out just to look at the mower to see if there's an issue with it. As of now, I have no idea if there is or not or if it's the battery or the charger.

Battery is running shorter and shorter times (only 1 year old)  and taking me twice as long to mow. Agent thinks it's because grass is thick, so shorter run time. Can't see buying another battery for $300 when i can buy a new lawn mower for that price. Into my fourth season and Not sure if I'll be buying another one of these if it only works with a thin lawn. Needless to say, I'm a little frustrated since this is in the middle of the growing season.

Sue, have you tried sharpening the blade? The most common cause of poor cutting performance and reduced run times is a dull blade.

I'm not sure what to suggest as far as the battery charger issue goes. Do you have another battery or another charger you can try in order to eliminate the faulty component?

Customer Service should not be telling you to take your lawnmower to Home Depot for service unless there is a problem that they can duplicate. It's not like they are going to take the mower and try cutting grass with it to see how long the battery lasts.

I agree, and blade sharpening does make a big difference. I now sharpen mine twice a season. Even though I have a small lawn..

Someone from EGO will be contacting me directly. I've tried sharpening the blade before but really didn't make a difference with battery time. If it's just a matter of the grass being too thick, then not much can be done with that, but to mow it more frequently, which I really don't have the time to do. The grass does seem to be growing extremely fast this year.

I'd still like to find out why charger is acting up. I'll be mowing lawn tomorrow.  I'm going to try mowing it twice next week, if I can find the time, to get it down shorter. Right now, mower can only handle mowing at 4" and then I have to go back and mow it at 3" where it's needed. Lately, the mower will just shut down suddenly without light turning yellow first. Then, I have to rest for a few minutes before it starts up again.

I never got the call from Jorge at EGO, but the last time I mowed over a week ago, it was charging normally again.  What gives?

I'm going to be having someone mow for the next three weeks, so I won't know until I get back to it next month what it'll be doing then.

Still getting short mow time with battery but not sure that can be resolved except to get a different lawn mower.

Hope you get someone to contact you.
