My part of California doesn't have hurricanes or tornadoes, but we do have earthquakes which also trips out the electricity. So things falling down may need a battery powered chainsaw to cut up. And it would certainly make yard maintenance much easier than my corded unit.

Would be great to have a charging platform for the variety of batteries on the market. I already have too many chargers for lithium batteries cluttering my already limited storage. An electronics manufacturer would be smart to develop a charging system similar to the single panel solution that charges cell phone peripherals and small devices.
In addition to a chainsaw, I ask R+D at EGO to consider a hybrid power source such as a small solar panel coupled with kinetic source such as wind possibly tied to a separate lithium battery to drive a retrofit self propel unit that can be installed by the consumer or an authorized dealer.
As compared to other cordless lawnmowers on the market, the EGO is the heaviest and, though I am 60, none of the homeowner target market is getting any younger. And, with so much on the plate, by the time I get to the lawn, I am already beat to smithereens.
So my hills, not only get trickier with annual soil shifts, but I will increasingly need help to maneuver the mower, especially for several steep pitches unsuitable for riding mowers. That's one gas mower feature that I truly miss.
Mowing close to one acre with hills in the heat will be a real soaker come mid summer, especially since I have to take a running start to push that baby into position to mow horizontally.

The only things I notice are comments about the bar and chain. They do not mention the rotational speed. I will tell you that the difference in power between 40V and 56V is quite noticeable. The EGO uses the Oregon bar, big plus. The Ryobi's are notorious for being big oil leakers. All chainsaws leak bar oil, but not like those things. I am excited about the EGO and it looks very well thought out. The company is starting to get the idea that people will pay for quality and convenience. Just don't ever go cheap on engineering or manufacturing of the product.
Keep up the good work, can't wait to have this thing. I have a large yard that is needing some tree pruning.
