Certified Used Ego power tools program

I would love to see EGO have a certified used power tools program, the way car companies have certified used programs for their cars. I imagine it going something like this. When people return lightly used equipment to EGO, EGO checks them over to make sure they are in good shape, and replaces parts that may need replacement (e.g. Blades on lawn mowers). Then they are sold at a reduced rate to customers. That way every one wins out. EGO gets to resell lightly used equipment. Customers get a discounted rate on equipment that is practically new. And it is light on the earth, in that it reduces waste.

I love it. I wish manufacturers would be more interested in this type of idea. Land fill avoidance should be a requirement of all companies who claim they are "green".

This is an excellent idea, John. I'll definitely pass this on. :-)

When I returned some Milwaukee tools, I asked their in-store (Milwaukee) rep what they do with the tools; she said they will inspect them and if very much LNIB (like new in box), the would mark them down a little and put them up for sale as open box.  It would be great to see Ego offer that option as well.  Or as the original poster said, a certified pre-owned program.
