Multiple people have recommended the  Ego ST1502-S to me, but it seems to be discontinued.

Other models I've explored (lowest to highest price):

Specs all look very similar so it's tough to discern what I need.

As an aside, I've left multiple voicemails and waited on hold 30+ minutes 3x for phone support. It's a bit frustrating to hear an automated, "We understand that your time is very important," and yet they don't have enough staff to prevent 30+ minute waits. You're potentially buying a $150+ product and this is an opportunity to surprise and delight a potential customer (who would, in theory, explore additional EGO products if he/she had a good experience).

Perhaps I'm a spoiled consumer/have high expectations, but even notoriously bad companies (AT&T, Comcast, United, etc.) are infinitely more helpful.

Ryan, the only differences are split vs straight shaft, original (discontinued) vs Rapid Reload head, and 2Ah vs 2.5Ah battery.

Both shaft models are pretty much the same (split shaft folds for shipping only, not storage), and are both solid once in use. If you have a larger property the 2.5Ah battery might be worthwhile.

This is Ego's high season, and as a growing company they are extremely busy with calls, with an increase in business every year it seems. They have had issues with their online warranty registration which likely added to the call volume, and their voicemail box is being upgraded to handle more callers. They're working on it! :-)

Rest assured that once you do get through they are VERY good, and they are also local... you're speaking to a real person in Grand Rapids Michigan.

Let us know which model you chose and how you like it!
