Finally received my battery after it shipped separately from my mower. Battery charged, mower won't start. I have the button pushed, level pulled and nothing happens. I've read the entire manual, everything seems to be in place. Very frustrated, any suggestions?

Check:
-Make sure the handle is fully extended and locked in place (motor won't start with handle collapsed)
-Make sure the battery is fully inserted and latched into its holder
-Push the button, THEN pull back the lever. If you pull lever first, it won't start.
-flip the mower over and make sure the blade spins freely, and is not binding.

If those things check out, it sounds like a return to Home Depot is the next step. It sucks you're having trouble with it. I'd be furious if I bought a mower this expensive and couldn't make it work!

The first two things to check would be to make sure you've pushed the battery down firmly until it clicks, and make sure the handle is extended all the way and the clips on the handle are properly engaged. These are safety mechanisms, and if they aren't in place the mower won't start.
If it still doesn't work just another reason they should sell these mowers as kits only as that way they are probably tested with the charger and battery that comes with mower.Ridiculous who ever came up with the idea of selling mower seperate from battery and charger

I'm 100% confident the plant has a battery hanging around that they can test a unit off the production line with. I'm also confident they have means of testing chargers and batteries independent of equipment (otherwise Duracell and Energizer might be in trouble).

That said, if you've been with the ego family long enough you don't need to buy a battery with every purchase (in fact it's a marketing point). As it stands, we've already had people request the new backpack blower as a single unit because they feel the added expense of buying batteries they already own would be fruitless. Would be like buying a computer and always having to buy the monitors with it ("but I already have a monitor! ").

As far as shipping separating, it just makes inventory a lot easier. You now havery a universal SKU you can either one-off or include in a parent bundle. (Easier to have one packaging configuration with no battery and include it in a bundle deal than have two configurations: one with and one without battery).

That's great if you have an EGO product already but even the ego sight includes the 7.5 battery and charger for their self propelled mower which is also sold by HOME DEPOT .COM that way but Home depot.ca has chosen not too for remainder of this year

Maybe there's a miscommunication;

Just a month or two ago, ego decided to break out battery and mower into individual packaging, however you can still purchase (to my knowledge) the bundle deal. The only difference is that instead of it being a single box (like when I purchased it), you'll now receive multiple. Same price, just simpler for inventory tracking, shipping (cargo/freight), etc.

This was done globally, though I'd imagine there are still some original units from the previous configuration lingering around which might add to the confusion.

Andrea's mower WAS sold as a kit. But the 21-inch mower and 7.5 Ah battery are shipped in separate packages because of changes this past spring to shipping regulations that have something to do with weight and lithium-ion batteries.

That said, the ability to buy Ego's products as bare tools is a major selling point for me. I already had a mower and 15-inch trimmer, so I have two batteries and two chargers. I didn't need to pay for more of them when I bought my leaf blower, and I'll save a ton of money when I buy the snow blower as a bare tool in a couple of months.

I've had my mower for months and even I recently failed to push the battery down firmly enough for it to complete a circuit with the mower.   Check it very carefully.  :)

So turns out, they shipped me the entirely wrong battery. I was sent a 2.0Ah. After spending the last hour at Home Depot and on the phone with HD and EGO, they tell me, good news, they are sending me a battery! How is this good news when it was their mistake to begin with and I'm the on stuck with the consequences!? Very poor customer service and might just be returning the whole damn thing when it's all said and done. So far I've spent $600 on a big piece of plastic, have called numerous times trying to get my battery that shipped separately , finally receive said battery only to find out it's the completely wrong one and all I have to show for my trouble is a jungle for a yard.

Your "completely wrong battery" will work just fine in your mower, just with a shorter run time. All of Ego's batteries, tools and chargers are interchangeable. You'll be able to use your mower until the bigger battery arrives.

This still doesn't address your original problem, which was that your mower won't charge. Have you tried any of our suggestions?

I'll second that...I have 2.0ah, 2.5ah, and the 7.5ah batteries. All of them will power my self propelled mower, or my weed eater.

Unfortunately, if your mower isn't running, the 7.5ah battery likely won't fix your problem. I think there must be something else going on.

I've tried every other suggestion and nothing. I'm going to wait for the 7.5Ah if it doesn't work I'm for sure returning it. This is ridiculous.

Did the battery click in when installed in mower and when you press the battery status button does it glow green?
Do the headlights turn on?

The battery did click into place. The button glows green when pressed. The headlights do not turn on.
That's why if they sold it as a complete pkg.things like this would most likely not happen

You keep saying that, but this mower IS sold as a complete package. But because of shipping regulations with respect to lithium-ion batteries that Ego and Home Depot have no control over, the battery has to be shipped separately.

It wouldnt be a huge issue, but they only give you one tracking number. If it's two packages, that will(and do) arrive separately, they should supply two tracking numbers. My battery hadn't arrived, yet according to my tracking number my order was complete.
You clearly have more than a battery issue then as sounds to me then their is an electrical wiring issue that may be disconnected somewhere internally that is not completeing the circuit

The Lithium Battery shipping restrictions have caused many issues. The batteries can't be shipped by air any longer. Willing to bet your 7.5 battery is in the back of the shippers truck in route. Maybe now you will have two once the packages catch up being shipped by ground.
BTW all online orders look to ship from a California based warehouse.
