I bought what looked like a sealed snow blower and used a discount coupon. I got home later today and opened it and it doesn’t appear to be new. It’s well packed but missing some stickers on the machine, missing hex key, literature had words written on the front page and some nicks on the body. I tested it and it is working. I have a storm coming tomorrow and so I’ll probably need to use it.

What should I do? Should I return it after the storm? Will they give me back my coupon? Should I ask for money back? First time this has happened to me.

I would take it back before using it and explain why They should just straight-up exchange it. I'm sure it was a customer return that Home Depot put back out on the floor hoping no one would notice.

The only way I would accept that is if they gave me a significant discount for it being an open-box item.

In a conundrum. Snow is falling really quickly and I really want to use the blower. :(

Do they have any more in stock? If so it should be a quick exchange.

They had one which was partially open. I went with the sealed box which turned out that it is probably not new.

You have 90 days to return it. Use it and return it.

Thanks. I used it. The snow was super wet and heavy. The ego met its match and I only got 1/3 of my driveway done before the batteries died. I do have a long driveway though. We don’t get too much wet snow so I’m curious to see how much better it’ll do with powder. I may keep it.
