Battery charged, everything seems fine but machine won't start. On light blinks green. Self-propulsion is fine, just no blade action

Have you mowed with it before?

And you are pressing the green button first, and holding it pressed while pulling on the bail? Sometimes people try to do it in the opposite order. Doesn't work in the opposite order.

Yes, I have operating and praising mower for one year. It has been sitting for winter months so assuming this is  a corrosion problem, though less than year old. Something I can fix?

I would call customer service and let them help you troubleshoot. Corrosion hasn't been a problem with these mowers.

I had the exact smae problem and realized that one of the clips that secure the handle in it's extended position had come undone when I brushed past a bush. If I left it for a minute it would start again then fade within ten seconds. It would always drive though. Extending the handle and snapping the clip closed fixed my problem.

i have the same issue now. i had the lawn mower for 2 months. i went to start it today and the blades wont engage. i tried different batteries, tried extending the handles. the blades wont engage. i called customer service and was put on hold and never got anyone to answer the phone. the self propelling works though.

What is the solution to this problem.  Handles are extended correctly.  The mower worked the week before.  There does not seem to be any issues with the wire in the tubing.  Propel works fine.  The only issue is the blade does not engage.  I have had the mower 11 months but only used it six times for a small area.

This is an interesting issue. Blades not spinning but self propel working.

Push green button, then pull blade engage handle back.

When you pull the blade engage handle back, do you hear a click sound? This is to ensure the switch is being actuated.

When you pull the blade engage handle, do any lights flash on the indicator light?

Does the blade spin freely when turned by hand?

Was in the middle of a mowing, and blade stopped spinning and Orange light comes on signalling that it's battery temperature.  Waited 30 minutes and retried and still not working.  Propel works fine.

This symptom just showed up for me in the second season of mowing.  I think I've determined that it has to do with pressure on the handle - pressing down causes the blades to not start (or stall) and gently lifting the handle up "fixes" the issue.

Hoping to defer the warranty claim until spring growth stops...

same for me - self propel works, but blade doesn't spin.  Handle is extended and battery is fully charged.  light blinks both green and orange, depends on what position the handle is in.  i bought this from HD a year ago so this is second season of use.  cant get through to EGO by phone...their people are working from home during covid.

If this issue is handle pressure sensitive. There are 2 switches. One on the left at the handle extend clamps. And one where the handle bar pivots. If you take the plastic off around three 2 points you may find your issue. It's very likely that it is a switch.

When you pull the bail handle back, you should hear a click. It's a small click but it's there. If you cannot hear the click. Then the cam they engaged the switch in the handle is malfunctioning. Taking the handle apart is easy. Screws are on the bottom. It's worth a look
