I have both an EGO leaf blower and lawn mover as well as both 5.0ah and 7.5ah batteries. Is the over-all unit power effected by which battery I use or is just the length of time that the unit is able to run? Thanks.

Some of the more powerful tools will benefit power-wise from the larger batteries. Generally speaking, the smallest batteries included with the kits are good to ensure top performance.

The lawn mower should be fine with either the 5.0 or 7.5 battery, and the leaf blower will last a LONG time (it only needs a 2 or 2.5 Ah battery for top power).
I've heard reports that using a 2.5 battery in a lawnmower doesn't give you the ability to "ramp up" to the highest power level if you run into a bunch of tall grass, but I can report that a 2.5 Ah battery will certainly allow you to mow a little bit of normal lawn with no problems for a short amount of time.

You will get less voltage drop with the larger batteries so because of that the battery size does impact both runtime and power.
