Just curious - I see many posts where it's mentioned for example "I have 15-20% left in the battery." How is this determined? As far as I can tell with the EGO equipment if I the battery on the Smart Charger I can estimate what's left in increments of 25%. Am I missing something?

Thanks

Mike

Push the button..if it turns red. That's 15%.
Why they don't have multiple colors showing like
green 100 to 76%
Yellow green 75 to 51%
yellow 50 to 26%
Red yellow 25 to 16%
Red 15%
These are the existing colored LEDS in the button unless it's RGB then same thing.

HUGE OVERSIGHT.

Thanks - my Makita Li-Ion tools have I believe 4 LED bars which is very helpful.

Pretty much every battery has 4 indicator bars..... Besides EGOs

Yup I guess for very little more they could have thrown in an LCD or led bar to accurately monitor the actual "charge level"......It was one of the things i found disappointing in a "state of the art" mower.  It also throws in  another thing able to go wrong. So be it for "cheap-out" or "durability" reasons....we will forever be guesstimating.

I believe the mega power pack 20Ah has a level bar on it

Yep, Makita caved in after a long time. First they started putting battery meters on the tools, then finally started putting them on the batteries themselves. It's only a 3-level meter, but that's fine.... I believe 3 bars is anything over 50%.

A four level meter is something Ego should be doing, and as Jacob pointed out, they can accomplish this with the existing tri-color LED button they already have. No changes to the plastic housing or any other hardware, most likely just a programming change would be necessary.
