Battery Difficult to Eject -- This is my second year with my self-propelling EGO. Love it, for the most part. I've only cut twice this year but each time I had some difficulty removing the battery. It also takes some effort to get it seated properly with first inserted. Any suggestions?

Are you saying it wasn't difficult to install or eject the battery during the first year of ownership?

Richard, there are two spring loaded posts that help lift the battery when you eject it. Pushing on them by hand, do they move freely? Do they both offer about the same amount of resistance? Are the tips where the battery contacts them worn or deformed in any way?

How about the battery? There's a hard plastic strip on the bottom of the battery that these posts push on, is that strip smooth? Is the rubber over mold around the strip damaged in any way?

Do you have another battery to insert so you can see if there's a difference or if both batteries are equally hard to install?

Also. With the battery out, push on the eject. Button, does it move freely. Also look at where the contacts for the battery are, make sure the black plastic piece is flush, if the contacts shifted down, it is hard to push the eject button.

I'm not at home to try these "fixes" for a few days. Hope to get to it on Mon or Tues. Thanks for the replies.

Did as advised. I've three batteries, one large one that came with the self-propelled mower and two smaller one that came with other devices. Two are just fine and the third, the small one with which I was having trouble, is better. Now it pops up but still seems to stick slightly. I don't think it's any cause for further concern. Thanks for all the replies. Everything else suggested checks outl.
