Battery (2.5 AH) drains while not in use

Hopefully not a dumb question...I'll use my string trimmer with fully charged battery for about 10 minutes around the yard. A few days later I'll pick it up and it will be dead again. Is it normal for juice to be used while the trimmer is not in use. User error??

The battery going dead on its own after a few days is not normal. Are you seeing any other symptoms with this battery such as the green light on the battery continues to flash when not in use. That is known to drain the battery and is a problem.
Regardless, the battery should not die in a few days of sitting.
Give EGO CS a call. Call when they open to avoid hold times.

Also if the cap of the battery by the push button is warm, it's probably running 30 day maintenance at the wrong time.

Battery should remain charged for at least 30 days of no use

I always remove the battery from my shipment after I use it and place it on the charger.  Unplug it when it's charged.

A 2.5 Ah battery ran at full speed under load will lass about 15 minutes. Yes, should remove battery from tool when not in use.
