Just purchased the Ego blower and I'm quite impressed with its power. However, it doesn't outweigh the short battery life. Additional batteries are outrageously expensive. Going to return mine today.

Mike, I replied to your other post as well.

In my opinion, the true value of a battery powered OPE lineup starts to show itself once you have multiple tools. Using the blower as an example, the power it requires does indeed drain the battery quickly, especially if you need to operate at the highest power level continuously.

Add a couple more tools and batteries to your lineup and you now can cycle the batteries between the tool and charger while you're using them. Once you get to the point where you have 2-3 tools and batteries, you pretty much have continuous operation.

Check out this video (I suggest skipping to the end after the intro). This is with the older blower and 2Ah battery, but it shows how the Ego system allows taking a warm battery right off the tool and plugging it into the charger with no impact on charge times or run times (unlike their competition):

With three tools and batteries you'd be hard pressed to deplete batteries faster than you could charge them.

Also, for larger jobs the backpack blower would likely be a better solution. It offers both 5Ah and 7.5Ah battery options.
