I bought the 21" self propelled mower with battery/charger a couple of weeks ago from Home Depot. It ran wonderfully for my small front yard and most of the back yard. Then it seemed the battery had depleted, so I brought it in to charge it and went about doing other yard work.
After it had fully recharged, I brought it back out, and the mower only started at most for a couple seconds before dying and the battery started blinking yellow. There doesn't seem to be complete information on what all of the different colors/flashes mean on the battery and mower, but I gathered that the battery and/or the mower was overheated or the battery was not adequately charged. I decided to bring the battery inside and put the mower away and the next day tried again with completely cooled mower and battery, but ended up with the same results.
Today, a couple weeks later, I plugged the charger back in and the battery showed 100% with no lights flashing to indicate an overheating problem. When I tried to use the mower again, this time it didn't even try to start. The light on the battery goes green for a second or two and then flashes yellow again. Same lights flash when I push the button on the battery.
I called customer support, waited for a call back, and after explaining the situation and light sequence on the battery, the customer service agent said they would ship me a new battery in 5-10 business days. The battery/charger/mower kit all show an Oct. 2016 date. Not sure if it was a bad batch or if it was a fluke in mine. Hopefully the replacement doesn't have the same issue or something else doesn't go wrong. As it stands I'll have to wait at least another week to try mowing again...
