Is it advisable to purchase additional Lawn Mower repair protection, which is offered at Home Depot for $130.00 for 3 years?

The lawn mower comes with a 5 year warranty so I say no.

Save your money from the 10 -15 "extended warranties" you would purchase for every product you buy and use it to pay for the 2 or 3 repairs you may actually need.

Yep. Extended warranty plans are dumb. I have bought them for a few things. I would say no

About the only difference between the HD extended warranty and EGO's warranties would be for items under $300 and within two years of purchase: If it breaks down, they will replace it with a Home Depot eGift card. For larger items like the mower ($300 or more)...the HD warranty and the EGO warranty appear "the same" and all you would be doing with the HD warranty is adding needless cost to the product.

Doesn't the extended warranty start after the manufacturer warranty expires? If not then good point. I was always under the assumption that it started after.

I think that's one sort of extended warranty. Another is one that covers things the original mfr's warranty doesn't. I don't know which one HD offers, but their price sure doesn't seem worth it.
