A curiosity question, not a problem. Why does motor shaft hesitate slightly when spinning by hand?

For you Ego techno-geeks, with the mower sitting up right, when I spin the blade very slowly there is a hesitation every  5 or 10 degrees (didn't really measure).  When I spin it faster, the hesitation almost goes away.   Its a new 20 inch.  I doubt there would be a problem with the bearings.  Am I feeling the poles lining up from a permanent magnet or something to that effect?

Yes its the motor lining up with the magnets. When you spin it faster you arent feeling it as much, probably due to the mass of the motor overcoming the magnetic field.
