Seems to me the price of the 575 CFM Blower doesn't add up when compared to the 530 CFM. The 530 tool only comes in at $127 for tool only or $199 for tool plus battery. The 2.5 ah battery lists at $150. In comparison, the 575 tool only is $149 and the tool plus battery is $349. The price delta for the tools alone is $22 plus the battery alone delta is $70, so I would expect the kit cost to be about $92 more for the 575 than the 530 kit. But instead the kit is a whopping $150 more? Is there something I am missing in the 575 kit price that makes this $62 unexpected fee make sense?

Ken - I outlined that in my initial post. Cost of 2.5 ah that comes with the 530 is $150. The cost of the 5.0 ah that comes with the 575 is $220. That's a $70 price delta. The tool only price delta is $22. So total price delta of the parts is $92, but the price delta of the kits is $150. So there is a $58 unexpected price delta between the kits.

That's a lot of deltas, but maybe there's a typo in your OP. Where you wrote $22 did you mean to write $220? You don't mention the 5.0 Ah battery at all.

Ken, he just mentions a delta of $70 for the battery, but didn't mention the battery size.
Agreed 100% Rick, the 575 kit price seems out of line, and even more so when you compare it to the higher performing 5Ah backpack blower kit that sells for $299. It's one of those odd prices that doesn't seem to add up.

That is why I usually recommend the backpack blower over the 575 unit.

You are right Ken, when I said delta $70 in the first post I should have mentioned the 5.0 ah at $220. The backpack blower is another good point. The backpack blower tool only is $199. Backpack with battery and charger is $299. Why is it $200 to get the 5.0 ah battery and charger with the 575, but only $100 to get it with the backpack blower? Same battery and charger.

Part of me thinks maybe this is a Home Depot typo, and it was meant to be $249. That would fit it right between the 530 and backpack blower.

The 530 CFM does not come with the "flat nozzle" and the "shoulder strap," whereas the 575 CFM includes both of these items. When you look at the cost of these two items together ($20 + $15 = $35), which is close to your "$58 unexpected price" for the kit. This is a "stretch" but that is as close as I can get to the rationale of the price differential.

David - the tool only comes with the flat nozzle and the shoulder strap so that is part of the $22 tool price delta.

Then I have no idea how they priced these tools at HD. Like Blue said, get the backpack blower and get two straps ... :-)

Thinking a little more about this, the real eye opener is that for $50 more than the 5Ah 575CFM blower kit you can get the 7.5Ah 600CFM backpack blower kit which also has the rapid charger... and two shoulder straps. :-)

Wife doesn't like the backpack blower. I am going to exhaust all avenues to get Home Depot to correct the price. I bought the mower today, and it would have been mower and blower if they had the correct price. If it drops to $249 anytime in the near future, you all can thank me ;)

Fight the power, Rick!
Agreed, $250-$275 would be a much more appropriate price in my opinion.

I hate to revive an old post, but this also has me in a bit of a quandary. While I love using backpack blowers, I like the compact size of a handheld unit. The pricing on the 575 makes no sense whatsoever!
