On the 20" mower , there are several complains about the rear discharge feature ( clogging or constantly falling off the mower) . Has this issue been fixed on the 21" ?

Thanks

Alex, while I'm not sure if a different design was implemented I can say with confidence I have yet to see a complaint here about the rear/side discharge on the 21" mower.

There were issues with the 20" mower side discharge, especially on damp or wet grass.

I have the 21" Self-Propelled Lawn Mower from Ego and have used only the rear discharge with the bag and have had no problems and even with wet grass. Also, the grass always flows straight to the back of the bag as it fills up.

The first mow of the season was very thick (but dry).

After the mowing when with wet grass I spayed off the bottom and sprayed the bag backwards from the outside of the mesh in. The wet grass stays on surfaces and I didn't want the mesh clogging up like a well used filter impending air flow in the future and therefore the flow of grass.

Any mower can have this problem and my older Lawn-Boy was not exempt either!

So I don't have an experience with your 20" but you might want to check out if the mesh is dirty. Damp grass might stick. Surely, wet grass will and when dry can be very hard to get off the fabric to restore air and grass flow.

On a side note I have a washable air filter in my AC, vacuum and old lawnmower. All of these give instructions to make sure the filters are completely dry before using them for the same reason... If water is involved dust, dirt, and grass really stick in the pores, small holes, etc. Like they are glued! So if the grass is wet on a mesh clean it up right away in the future.

It's all I have... Hope it helps.

Hi just to to be clear , im referring to the "side discharge" which is in the back ( IE i dont want to bag ) . I cut my grass at 3" and due to work/travel i often dont  get to cut the grass every 6-7 days. In these occasion mulching would have a rough time and id use the side discharge.

Ego doesn't ship it in the box and you need to request it , so id like feedback from actual users that have asked for it and actually used it . My main concern is the accessory falling off constantly , reading review from the 20" you can see some user who have screwed it on ...

Thanks
