Have had mine since last winter when I found it on sale at my local HD, have used it a lot since the weather is getting nicer near Seattle. It's done better than my 7hp Craftsman ever did.

With that kind of background, I would find an "excuse" to be outside and cut grass everyday .... :-)

Maybe better than a Sears, but NOT better than a Honda.  I would never, ever had bought the Ego if I wasn't so desperate to get away from exhaust fumes.  My Honda did everything better with only one exception: iti had a 3 speed transmission.  The Ego is variable speed.  The ego doesn't vacuum as well, hardly mulches, is flimsier.  BUT, it is quiet, cuts "good enough" (if the blade is VERY sharp) and works well in start/stop situations as there is no need to tug on a recoil starter cord (the newer Honda has electric start, so that Ego benefit would be moot if I had the newer model).

Don't forget Hondas had those awesome Unobtanium decks, or whatever it was called. You never should have sold that lawn mower.

Had one of the old Hondas with the plastic body, this Ego is still better. No more starting issues after sitting all winter, and I'll trade no exhaust fumes or pull starting nightmares anyday. The Honda was better than the Craftsman but was still a pain when it got older and I HATE gas runs when you run out!
