Yes, we updated the image yesterday morning when we caught it on homedepot.com but it didn't go through.  We've escalated that again for immediate update but it will take 24-48 hours on their side.  We're sorry for the confusion.

I bought the powerhead, string attachment, and edger on May 5th from Home Depot (online). I received an email this morning that all three are on backorder. When will there be more available?

Amber, thank you for this, we are quite excited.  Like Rick, I am eager to hear what is happening with the Edger Kit.  If it is going to be added shortly (hours or days) then I can wait, but if it is longer I will need to go ahead and order the kit without the edger (I am not sure my wife will let me wait any longer to edge and trim the yard).  Please advise.

I believe Ego doesn't really have any idea when their stuff will appear on the HD website, other than soon.  Both recent cases have been brought to the forum from members checking the HD website, not Ego publishing that they are available.

When customers buy and return items, I wonder who takes the hit, if it's Ego or Home Depot?  With the way the PH1400 "tool" only rolled out, and now the kits are available, I can see a lot of "early adopters" returning their tool only kits for the more cost effective bundles.

Can someone from Ego provide an eta on the edger kit, or the price of the edger attachment after buying the trimmer kit? I don't want to order the current trimmer kit just to return it if the edger with the included trimmer kit is just around the corner.

"insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different response... some smart guy name Einstein said that. "

Actually in some instances doing the same thing over and over again is not so insane because it does yield different results, it just depends on what variables are at work.

I am anxiously awaiting stock to be listed at The Home Depot for the EGO Power Head System kit with both the string trimmer and edger attachments.

If the info is correct, Union Wheel & Motorsports, an authorized EGO dealer in Edmonton, Alberta, has the kit listed as part# MST1502 with indication it will most likely sale for USD$399, or less, base on current Canadian dollar to US dollar conversion rates.

Photo of (a)Typical Engineer

Sorry, that was a typo, replace1502 with 1501, so corrected:

MST1501: PH1400/STA1500/5.0AH/charger
MHC1502: The MST1501 kit _AND_ the edger attachment
Photo of Mcklain

Mcklain

  • 5,080 Points 5k badge 2x thumb
What is MST1502 then?
Photo of (a)Typical Engineer

(a)Typical Engineer

  • 26,402 Points 20k badge 2x thumb
this is what happens when you (me) doesn't read to the top of the thread... how about this:

MST1501: PH1400/STA1500/5.0AH/charger
MST1502 (aka MHC1502): The MST1501 kit _AND_ the edger attachment

The MST1502 seems to fall in line with Ego's naming convention, why the other company used "MHC" is a mystery, as it would have been easier to just use Ego's part numbers.  Or maybe MHC is the official, and the MST1502 is the wrong one.

Regardless, I would go with what the seller's website listed, and in the case of MHC1502 or MST1502, both seem to be the MST1501 kit plus the edger.

Since HD Canada  does not seem to have a clue as to ETA to purchase, Is it possible for Canadians to have a Powerhead kit sent to a US store for holding and pick it up there?
Photo of David

David

  • 1,942 Points 1k badge 2x thumb
You go to homedepot.com (not .ca), load what you want into your cart, go to check out, chose ship to my store (cause it wont ship to Canada address) then click to chose your store. Pay. when it gets there ....roadtrip.
I haven't finished the purchase cause I want the edger attachment and i can't load it to my cart as its BO. its a rather short drive for me, but don't really feel like doing it twice.
maybe i'll pick up a few "extras" and corner the Canadian market in this area?  hahaha

I am pretty sure it's gonna ask you to pay or put in youre payment information before the order is complete and then when you try to use youre canadian credit card it wont go trought.  I am pretty sure I already tried this and it didnt work.  Keep us posted if it ever works!!

Hi. I'm a newbie with EGO, having a just bought the ST1502SF string trimmer and LM2102SP self-propelled lawn mower. I've used them exactly once but I'm very happy already. But here is the issue...

I'd like to buy a kit containing a powerhead + battery + charger + edger. However, it appears that this kit does not exist. Is this correct? How can I get this kit?

Thanks,

Dan.

p.s. Buying a powerhead kit with a string trimmer attachment is a non-starter. That would be a waste of money.
Photo of (a)Typical Engineer

(a)Typical Engineer

  • 26,452 Points 20k badge 2x thumb
You are correct, that kit is currently not available.  Since you already have the 15" trimmer (and likely the 2.5 AH battery), you'll probably want to buy the PH1400 tool for $150, and the edger for $100.  You can also used the 7.5AH battery with the PH1400, but it might a little unwieldy.

Based on what Ego offers in Europe, it doesn't appear that the kit you desire will be available:

The one kit, MHSC2000E MULTI-TOOL SET.  offered a brush cutting blade with a line trimmer tool, not the brush cutter.  The blade is called "brushcutter blade (AB1203)". I wonder if the US version would work in a similar fashion?  We had a member in another thread disappointed that the brush cutter would not be offered in the US in 2017.

https://egopowerplus.co.uk/products/multi-tool/MHSC2000E-multi-tool-set

Thanks for posting this site (a)TE its interesting to see the offerings in Europe.

As a loyal and enthusiastic EGO consumer I can only hope that there is an error in this morning’s initial listing by The Home Depot for the Power Head kit with the string trimmer and edger attachments (Model # MHC1502).

Obviously, the listed price of $599 would put the kit at $151 above the cost of separately purchasing the Power Head and string trimmer kit (model # MST1501 - $349) and the Edger Attachment (Model # EA0800 - $99).

My frustration is further compounded by the fact that while patiently waiting, for over a month after the initial announcement for this kit here on this thread, the separate Edger Attachment (Model # EA0800) has been out of stock for a while now.

Please let me know if indeed the initial listed price for the MHC1502 Power Head kit with string trimmer and edger attachment is in error or correct. I truly want to maintain my enthusiastic loyalty to EGO and as a brand I can recommend to others not only in quality of product but one that respects its costumers.

For $79 I think I may just buy the Ryobi edger.  Please don't kick me off the board.  But it is basically a $450 investment v a $79 expense.  Starting to feel it my be worth the $79 fee to put off the decision for another year to see what is up with ego and its multihead system and supply chain before investing $450 in an Ego product line.

Why wouldn't you want this to be sold in Canada for the spring season as well. The last month or so has been peak buying time for these items and it is not available.
